How to plan a budget you can stick to.
Usually when we look into our personal habits, we tend to form an ideological reality, creating the financial
image we like to see.
However, when you plan your budget it's important to stay close to the real numbers and plan a budget you can
actually stick to.
Otherwise your budget might look nice but it will not be too helpful to your personal finance.
Changing your personal habits is difficult. Don't rush it.
There is a good chance that while creating your budget you will like to set goals, and decide where to save more or
spend less. Setting goals is great but remember that changing habits is easy on paper but complicated in real life.
So even if you are sure that you can save $200 on your credit card per month, start with saving $50.
And if you think that
you can go to the local pub just 2 times a month instead of 8 times, start with planning 6.
In short, don't be too hard on yourself.
We recommend you to start with planning small goals and make it work.
Once you'll stick to the plan, you will feel satisfied and it will be a great jump to the next step.
Plan a budget you can stick to - Don't fall off the tracks.
A common budgeting problem is that once you deviate the budget you planned and you don't achieve your budgeting goals (savings goals),
people tend to lose interest in their budget and drop the entire plan.
This is why it's important to set budgeting goals step by step.
Then, if you don't stick the budget, just take one step back and continue again from that point.
Planning your budget can be frustrating, don't panic.
There is a good chance that when you finish planning your budget you'll see numbers you don't like, and you'll be
facing some annoying facts about your financial future, like that making the first million will take a little more than
you thought... well that's ok.
Remember that there are no short cuts and to be a better budget planner, you'll need to practice.
The good news is that it really doesn't take too much, with budget5000 a few minutes every few days is more than enough
to start saving money.
