Nickname: Henrik S R           Budgeting Since: 10/06/2009 Budeting tips, how Henrik S R is saving money: use cash, dont take the credit card if i dont have to, drive the bike to work (when its not to cold) , skip starbucks budgetplanner: I work for a supermarket that has a starbucks in the store. I find myself grabbing a chai tea at least twice a day. I have started to pack my lunch and make my own tea at the store which saves me at least $50 a week.  02/05/2010 21:39 ShannyB: I use my credit card all the time to build my credit. But I only do this if I have money in my debit account. As soon as I am home, I get on the online bank and switch the funds over. This builds credit while effectively eliminating debt. Also, I have the option of bringing my credit card limit up to $1500 at the current time but I keep it at $500. This ensures that even if I do absolutely max out my credit card, I am not in that big of trouble :)  20/04/2010 04:26 wball: I'm in Canada, so my wife and I drink Tim Hortons everyday. BUT, we buy the big can of coffee for 16 bucks. We get about 200 cups of coffee from it as opposed to $4 every day(2cups). So, $16 for 200 cups at home vs $400 for coffee at Tims, well, you see the difference.  16/04/2010 16:33 chris101899: I used to work for a bank and the customers who had the most overdrafts also had the most debit card purchases. I actually advised a couple to figure out how much they needed from their paychecks for gas, groceries, etc. Then go to the bank once each paycheck, get that amt of cash, and cut up the card. If you're using cash, when you run out that's it. I did it myself for a while, and I was definitely more aware of what I was spending.  29/03/2010 09:53 KatrinaGulisano: The Starbucks Gold card has saved my family a fortune. My husband and I go to starbucks everyday, sometimes twice a day. (BAD HABIT) But the Gold card saves you 10% on every purchase, plus gives you extra free perks. If you don't want to spend $25 on the Gold card membership, just get a Starbucks gift card with a min balance of $5 and register it, which will give you free coffee refills and free extras like special syrups and free wifi access.   02/01/2010 04:54 D.C.T.: Starbucks and the like are the "Devil" those tasty drinks can really add up on you in more ways than one just think about all those extra calories you gulp down every day.
