Budeting tips, how gottasave is saving money:
I didn't realize I was spending too much money, but when I start breaking things down whoa! Way too much.
 

The most stupid spending on gottasave personal budget:
I quit smoking the other day using the patch. Used the 2 steps $120.
 

Can you stick to the budget:
gottasave: There is no part that says.."Pay to self" This allows to go out, buy a garment, book, $1 MacDonald hamburger, Mug, thermas holder etc. Or the $5-10 per week. Pocket money.
 

What made you want to use a budgeting software (personal budget planner):
gottasave: Start running out of money before the month was out.
 

Leave the credit card at home, start using cash:
gottasave: Use cash. Leave the debit card home too. I find I was spending more money just because I had the card.

gottasave: Pre-paid cards are a waste. 1. you pay the charge to buy it . 2. You don't spend the amount to the penny. Buying a card $5.95 for the amount of $100. You can use up to $1.00. So for $7 you have lost. Place $140 (7 $20 bills) in a envelope for the week. Anything over coins/bills in a jar.   09/04/2010 20:43

gottasave: I used 1 credit card for medical for I didn't have the cash. When medical expenses went up drastically, I went to consollidate (on disability) and was told to file bankruptsy (sp) I did and it will take 7 years to clear credit; but again everything went up 31/2 years before the Recession..so the money saved from credit cards is used for everyday living. I use no plastic. If you are on SSI or SSDI go to a debt consolidator..there is a guideline they use.   04/04/2010 04:06

gottasave: kids want everything they see. If old enough see if they can assist doing housework for neighbors. Or give alternatives. If you want sneakers, then no cell phone, if you want to go to the movies/MacDonalds, then you have to save your allowance for the month.   10/03/2010 03:54

gottasave: Been there done that!!! Eat hotdogs, beans, eggs, veggies, oatmeal and rice for a month. This will save you more than $200 and you might just lose weight. Don't do it more than a month. No more overdrafts because you are rounding to $5/$10 increments. You have a little more money. For every $10 you are over; buy a roll of quarters. I'm starting back on this. gottasave: I think this is where my problem is. Paper products, freezer bags, meats, frozen veggies. Buy on sale in bulk so I don't buy the same items on a monthly basis. This month I spent $120 on meats that will last 3-4 months. Next month it's frozen veggies, salmon, talipa and cod $130, April is paper products and toiletries. I using the budget to spend monthly for all items.   23/02/2010 03:06

gadi: I've noticed that many people say that the most stupid thing they spend money on is cigarettes. I used to smoke also, so i know how hard it is to quit (and how much money you spend..) . i hope the next tip will be useful... it took me a long time to understand that if i want to quit smoking i have to understand why i am smoking - what exactly is giving me the urge to smoke. I am guessing that everyone have a different reason to smoke. I've found out the main reason i was smoking is (and i know it's stupid) that it makes me feel cool.
