Cris: eating out: go to hole in the wall places. 6.99-11.99 per plate. or just eat in. salads, sandwiches, cereal, go a long way. cigarettes, no way unless you quit. I had to stop from 3 packs a week to one or two cigs a week. not bad. Look at how much you spend on cigarettes, then take out your Health Insurance info and check to see if they cover cancer treatment, many don't, add your monthly cigarette cost to the 250000.00 a month in cancer treatment, once I looked at that and realized my habit was forcing me to budget for my death I quit. Next where Debt Consolidation is concerned look at your credit report and who you owe the money to. The collection agencies bought your debt for 10% of the actual debt. Contact the collection agencies and offer them 15% Basically negotiate most of them just want to get paid. it shoudl lower it considerably. The cost of cigarettes is actually going to be $9.00 a pack, if you think about the regulations rolling out from the FDA next year that will reduce the amount of nicotine in each cigarette. That's going to produce a need to buy more cigarettes each day by those who smoke. As Far as cable goes, DOWNGRADE your service, and get WIN TV for the computer. Then use an HDMI cable to make a connection from the comp to the TV. OR, you can train your family to do more activities rather than wasting your time parked in front of the box. It's not hard to do- my family has been doing it for 6 months. You can save about 35 a month on the electricity bill by reducing TV time, and can save about half the cable bill by following the method described. As far as the cigarettes go, it doesn't take very much intelligence to realize that this is a most UNnecessary expense. Try burning a 5 dollar bill when you run out of smokes. TV: find another hobby or visit friends. Use Net flix instead and just go with the most basic package. Do crosswords or sudokus instead. Seek help to give up smoking. Interest kids in more creative activities (writing, drawing, singing, playing). Set yourself a limit for shopping and stick to it. Only buy what is needed.   01/07/2009 13:03 Carey: I have just started cooking a variety of "easy" foods that I freeze in individual pyrex dishes for 2 weeks, because usually we "eat out" for convenience. Keep a smoking journal and learn what triggers you to reach for a cigarettte. Take all the toys and put them in a closet and have the kids "select" a few toys to play with and when they tire of that toy you take them back to the closet and "exchange" for a different toy. If you have the "urge" to shop then go to the Dollar Store and you'll spend less ... but ultimately ask yourself if you are avoiding doing something at home because if you leave the house you don't have to look at what you're not doing.  20/06/2009 20:32 Prinsess J: try going out to the movies (its only 14 dollars for you together, plus the snacks). Limit yourselves to going places where smoking and coffee arent allowed. Try to find the reason why you are smoking so much. Set yourself a limit as to how much you are going to spend on Stocks. Try to get your bank involved and settle for an RRSP or 401K. Its a set rate per month and it will fit micely in your budget  12/06/2009 21:10 you have no choice when it comes to gas - unless you take public transit - any if your anything like me there is no way I am getting on a bus when I have my truck in the driveway. Smokes on the other hand - you could do what i did, buy smokes that you hate and you think taste awful, you will cut down quite a bit with this method.  12/06/2009 17:39 Sparkygirl: As for cigarettes....quit! I always call my mobile phone company every few months to see what else I can squeeze out of them. I speak to someone in the loss and retention department and usually they throw something in or they can help you to find ways to rearrange your existing plan to save.   09/06/2009 19:40 say no to eating out. Limit yourself to 5 times this week, 4 times next week until you're eating out only once a week. Eat at cheap places, search for dine in coupons to places and special deals. As for cigarettes...therapy, patches, gum, hypnosis...not sure what you've tried  28/05/2009 04:12 stop smoking lol and as for supplies for trade start looking into your inventory and see what things you are buying that is unessecary and if you are trying to build up knew stock do it very slowly as this will help control your over head and buying too much too fast gives customers overload stick with the KISS theory and expand slowly giving the customers a chance to see all the new items that comes in slowly so they can focus on it. Also you can try re negotiating credit with suppliers. Just because that is the price listed does'nt mean they can't be bargined down a bit especially if your buying in bulk!
